Michael G. Hummer, MD

Michael Gorman Hummer, MD

Michael Gorman Hummer, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital in Oklahoma City. His residency in Neurology was completed at Bernalillo County Medical Center at the University of New Mexico Medical Center in Albuquerque. Dr. Hummer is the recipient of numerous academic honors. He was a physician in the South Pole, Antarctica from 1974 to 1975, serving as part of a project affiliated with the National Science Foundation. In 1980, Dr. Hummer opened a solo practice for Adult and Pediatric Neurology in Flagstaff, Arizona. He relocated to Austin, Texas in 1985, and has been an active member of the medical staff at St. David’s Medical Center since that time.

Dr. Hummer has been involved in a number of clinical research studies, and served as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
